If you don't trim off the damaged ends, they will only split more. I'd go ahead and get it trimmed.

don't wait until your hair gets longer. if you have split ends or if your ends are damaged, if you let it grow, it won't look nice. you have to cut the damaged ends, so that your hair can grow quickly. right now, your hair is focusing on the ends. the more it does it, the less likely your hair will grow healthy.

no just get it over with.try a better conditioner for the ends especially if ure using so much heat.and try not to use heat everyday.Pantene has a good conditioner

Try a "dusting" trim. It just cleans up the ends, without taking length and freshens up layers.

Great idea every 4-6 weeks, obviously it won't get all the damage like a 1/4" trim but hey it's better then leaving scraggly ends!

good but pricy shampoo and contitioner is MATRIX at JcPENNYS and what makes my hair so shiny is brush it before you go to sleep every night but DONT yank on it if you get you contitioner just lightly scrape it trust me i get compliment on my hair all the time

Find a cute shorter cut and go with that. Also, are you using a moisturizing oil on your hair b4 the flat iron? Redken makes a good one. It is called Smooth Down Heat Glide. You only need a drop or two.

No get it cut now so it wont get damaged more. Try not to use a flat iron often. Get your hair chemically straightened so it wont damage it...Hope it helps = )))

It depends if your hair will look good short. Also your face shape has to do with it too. If you have a rounder head shorter the better. A more squarish head, longer is better to cover big jaw. SO overall it depends. good luck on you hair cutting!!

You should have the hair you like. Consider your face shape, etc... I am a hairdresser, and speaking from experience, my husband likes it long! (Even though it looks good short, too.) Plus, keep it mind that it's just hair and it will grow back!

Hi rach...as a girl, my experience has been that guys prefer long hair. The consensus is that a couple of inches above shoulder length is the shortest a girl should go to still have sex appeal.

Personally, I believe a girl can look sexy w/a short -do (look at Halle Berry before she grew out her hair/got extensions), but I think a girl has to have good bone structure and what not to pull off a short -do. A wide face and a short -do doesn't exactly match.

hey guys. Well My hair is a little bit past my shoulders and its layered with long bangs on the side

well i have terrible dead ends from constant straightening

I need to get them all cut off tomorrow, but i am scared because every time i ask them to keep it long just get off the dead ends they cut it short and it looks bad.

what can i do to keep them from doing this?

More than likely you have more split ends than you think you do. By telling them to trim the bad ends, you aren閳ユ獩 really being specific enough and this leaves you open to unfortunate shorter haircuts than you expected.

First of all, make sure that you get regular trims. If you are using a hot straightening iron, you need to get the ends trimmed before they actually fray. If you are concerned about accidentally going too short, keep in mind that hair grows half an inch a month, and so if you go to the salon in four weeks, make sure that you tell them that you want no more than half an inch. Ask them what a half an inch is to them. If they show you something longer than you thought, tell them to cut less. Let them know that you understand that half an inch isn閳ユ獩 going to get all the dead ends, but that you are going to trim them off gradually to avoid going too short. Don閳ユ獩 let time between haircuts go too long or your ends will break of and it will feel shorter anyway.

You can also make sure that your hair is cut consistently by going to the same hairdresser each time. This way, even if they cut your hair too short last time, tell them that it was too short and they will adjust accordingly. You have a better chance of going back to the same person a month later to get an accurate adjustment than starting out with someone new that you know nothing about.

If your ends are that bad, you won't be able to get them all cut off anyways. Hair splits and if you don't get your hair cut on a regular basis, then you risk having to have it cut shorter, or not looking as nice because you can't have all the dead ends taken off..

Your best bet? Get it cut every 6-8 weeks faithfully by a stylist that you trust.

have really long hair and it really gets me down cos its naturally frizzy so I have to spend hours straightening it so, I'm going to get it cut tomorrow to my shoulders and it will be much more easy to handle and straighten and it will also by out of my way for summer.

i would go with lots of choppy layers since you strighten it everyday. Maybe get them to use a razor to do the layers. I have mine like this and i absolutely love it. Maybe add some highlights to it
