don't wait until your hair gets longer. if you have split ends or if your ends are damaged, if you let it grow, it won't look nice. you have to cut the damaged ends, so that your hair can grow quickly. right now, your hair is focusing on the ends. the more it does it, the less likely your hair will grow healthy.

Try a "dusting" trim. It just cleans up the ends, without taking length and freshens up layers.

Great idea every 4-6 weeks, obviously it won't get all the damage like a 1/4" trim but hey it's better then leaving scraggly ends!

Find a cute shorter cut and go with that. Also, are you using a moisturizing oil on your hair b4 the flat iron? Redken makes a good one. It is called Smooth Down Heat Glide. You only need a drop or two.

Hi rach...as a girl, my experience has been that guys prefer long hair. The consensus is that a couple of inches above shoulder length is the shortest a girl should go to still have sex appeal.

Personally, I believe a girl can look sexy w/a short -do (look at Halle Berry before she grew out her hair/got extensions), but I think a girl has to have good bone structure and what not to pull off a short -do. A wide face and a short -do doesn't exactly match.

hey guys. Well My hair is a little bit past my shoulders and its layered with long bangs on the side

well i have terrible dead ends from constant straightening

I need to get them all cut off tomorrow, but i am scared because every time i ask them to keep it long just get off the dead ends they cut it short and it looks bad.

More than likely you have more split ends than you think you do. By telling them to trim the bad ends, you aren閳ユ獩 really being specific enough and this leaves you open to unfortunate shorter haircuts than you expected.

First of all, make sure that you get regular trims. If you are using a hot straightening iron, you need to get the ends trimmed before they actually fray. If you are concerned about accidentally going too short, keep in mind that hair grows half an inch a month, and so if you go to the salon in four weeks, make sure that you tell them that you want no more than half an inch. Ask them what a half an inch is to them. If they show you something longer than you thought, tell them to cut less. Let them know that you understand that half an inch isn閳ユ獩 going to get all the dead ends, but that you are going to trim them off gradually to avoid going too short. Don閳ユ獩 let time between haircuts go too long or your ends will break of and it will feel shorter anyway.

You can also make sure that your hair is cut consistently by going to the same hairdresser each time. This way, even if they cut your hair too short last time, tell them that it was too short and they will adjust accordingly. You have a better chance of going back to the same person a month later to get an accurate adjustment than starting out with someone new that you know nothing about.

If your ends are that bad, you won't be able to get them all cut off anyways. Hair splits and if you don't get your hair cut on a regular basis, then you risk having to have it cut shorter, or not looking as nice because you can't have all the dead ends taken off..

Your best bet? Get it cut every 6-8 weeks faithfully by a stylist that you trust.

i would go with lots of choppy layers since you strighten it everyday. Maybe get them to use a razor to do the layers. I have mine like this and i absolutely love it. Maybe add some highlights to it

Also, make sure that it frames your face (layer around the face).

I would trim off at least 1 inch on the bottom in front.

Long, wispy bangs would be cool; no part, if possible.

Color ideas: a rich reddish brown maybe with blonde tips. And don't forget the lowlights (dark brown) as well as highlights - in red.

More extreme style change: pixie cut, short layers, bangs -- this would really emphasize your face.

With very thin faces, you dont want to have a style that flows with your jawbone. for example, a layered do framing your face. it will make your face look more narrow. Height has nothing to do with what hairstyles you can pull off but how much time you wish to invest in it does. I'd go to a Level 4 hairstylist and tell them how much time you wish to spend each morning. They can help. But most importantly if you are nervous about cutting your long hair into something short--you have to be confident. if you are scared about short, you'll just end up thinking they cut it Too Short and be unhappy with it.

go to a large wig shop and try on different styles .. You can also experimete with different colors this way. I wanted to dye my hair jet black a few years ago. Boy that would have been a big mistake! I look crappy with jet black hair. It may save you from a big mistake as it did for me.

The length of your hair really depends on the shape of your face. If you have a rounder face, I wouldn't really recommend shorter hair (even though some people think it looks good). It just seems to give your face an even more "round" shape, if you know what I mean. However, you don't want your hair too long either, or it will "overpower" your features no matter what shape your face is. There are several sites on the internet that cover information on the ideal haircut for your face shape as well as tools and tips to help you figure out what your face shape is. Hope this helps!

Go to a real stylist and get some expert opinions on what styles might best suit you. Whatever you decide just remember your hair says a lot about you and how you present yourself to others, especially women.

Some people love the Bruce Wills look, but since you are young I'd definitely avoid it. Use your hair while you have it and do NOT be a lame cop out like JT who looks like a lazy unkept bum.

Lastly, remember your hair is what really frames your face and is literally your crown, do something awesome with it especially if you are young and single.

Mousse doesn't usually work on fine hair. I use a gelee product by Biolage for years now and works on any style or color I have ever had. You don't need alot of it either. I use it when my hair is wet. Happy styling!

I had the exact same cut in my hair about 3 months ago. My hair is naturally SLIGHTLY wavy, and it was still a nightmare! My hair is now just about down to my shoulders and I have terrible split ends from having to straighten my pob to keep it looking kind of nice.

My advice is, if you have long wavy hair, keep it like that. It sounds pretty like it is, anyway =D if you fancy a change why not have some highlights or a little bit off the ends?

I don閳ユ獩 know if something is wrong with how I explain things, or if most stylists are afraid of cutting short hair.

I bring photos of what I want and everything. I explain what I like about the photos, length, layering, lines etc., but they never get it.

I say I want the back tapered down and want to feel a fuzzy back of my head, they leave it longer (so I have the joy of it growing in like a mullet.) I say I want my hair cut away around my ears (even hold the part I want cut a way) and they leave it over my ears. I show the longer pixie-styled hair in front of the ears and say I like it, they chop them away until they are almost gone.

I have tried several stylists, and only rarely do I get a haircut that is similar to what I showed and explained. I often have to go home in 閳ユ竾ix it閳?with scissors when I get home. It is like I am gambling each time I get a hair cut. I will always lose the $40, but it is only slightly possible I will walk away happy.

I think they are afraid to take too much off... I'd keep asking them to take a little more until they take too much and then my hair grows out all funky.

I just do it myself now... you should try it. One day I just took scissors to my hair... and it turned out exactly how I wanted it. Do not get up out of that chair until they finish. If its not short and fuzzy enough in the back, say "A little shorter please," and keep saying it till its fuzzy enough.

When working on the hair in front of your ears, tell them to start slowly. Cut a little off, and take a look. Keep doing it over and over till you get it to the length you desire. Remember to start slow though, you cant reverse it.

But ya, there are a lot of bad stylists out there. I have went through a lot to find one that knows what they are doing. I've been going to the same person for about 8 years. Before then, when I thought the haircut looked like **** I just did not pay and told them what I thought. I never came back to those places, salons are a dime a dozen so its easy to go to the next.

Unfortunately the only way to really elaborate styles like that is to go to a advanced hairstylist. This doesn't mean hop on a plane to Hollywood and spend $500 on a haircut, I'm saying you sould do what I do. I get a haircut very rarely cause mine cost $150 each. So once or twice a year. If you pay this much for a haircut you are usually gonna get somebody really good and you will be happy or close to happy. Example:

I went to a stylist a month and and wanted side bangs. My regular stylist was gone boohoo. So I went to the same place but someone new. She cut my side bangs a little too shorts but I was happy. If you do what I do you will walk away at least satisfied everytime! Good Luck!

My miniature labradoodle, Olive, is getting really shaggy. I know that thats the look but she is 3/4 poodle because her mom is a labradoodle and her dad is a miniature poodle. And her curls come out when she has short hair because I've known her since she was three weeks old and watched her grow up. She is almost four months now. thanx!

If she is an F1B I would recommend just getting a scissor trim until she is about 8-9 months old. At that time her adult coat will start coming in and will be more curly than fuzzy like her baby coat is now. You also need to have the hair plucked out of her ears about every 6 weeks to keep from getting ear infections since she is 75% poodle the hair in her ears will be thicker than an F1 which is only 50% poodle. Please don't listen to anyone insulting you or your dog. I'm glad you are enjoying your dog and are trying to take good care of it. I personally love mixed breed dogs.

I think if her hair is becoming a problem for you now get her groomed. I've seen lots of labradoodles and goldendoodles and people decide when to cut them based on their personal preferences. Some like them shaggy some like them short. When you stop and think about it this is true with many dogs. I have seen shih-tzu's, cocker spaniels, and maltese with both long and short hair so it all really boils down to your preference.

See how you like it, if you want it shorter, they can still go shorter. You can continue to work your way up until you get to the style and length that you like. Make sure that your honest with your stylist. That your a little unsure of how short, but you know you want it cut. If she's good, she will totally understand. It often helps if you have a picture of what you would like to head to. Your stylist will be able to show you how to style it and how to take care of it. He/She would also be able to tell you if the style you picked would look right with your face shape, and features. OMG EXACT same thing happened to me last week! I went from below shoulders to jaw level (not intentional!) and my confidence was at rock bottom, so I booked in for a full head of hair extensions. This didnt work for me as my natural hair was so short, and now im thinking that even though the short hair was horrible, it was better than what I have now!!! You can either live with it (like I wish Id have done!) or get extensions, but nothing will make it grow any quicker! Hope this helps!

Short hair can be really cute if you rock your style with confidence. After you get used to the style you can get creative with it. You are so accustomed to having your long hair that you think you look different in a bad way. The only thing that may be diminishing you looks is your confidence.

I got mine cut from shoulder length and had a few dodgy haircuts because 1. my hair kept going in to a center parting 2. wasn't sure what style I wanted.

Think about getting it cut to about a half inch all round (Like my avatar here - dunno if it is this length, I got a four all over and now after about six weeks it's a good length), or a caesar cut. It looks good on most people regardless and then just let it grow back. An inch or two makes a big difference when your hair is short, so get a decent cut and then you can let it go dishevelled as it grows back.

Also facial hair can really change the shape of your face. Ask a girl, or find out what suits your face and hair type rather than thinking "I'm a hippy or a goth or whatever..." Facial hair that doesn't suit with long hair can with short hair.

A short, half inch all over haircut can suit any style, think about it, from rave to metal to hiphop.

Product. Buy tons of styling product. You can't change the fact that your hair is short, but you can easily play with it until you at least have a little fun. Experiment with gels, creams and sprays! You can go for a fun shaggy look, twist it, curl it, etc. Start messing with it until it looks cute to you.

I just cut 8 inches off my hair last weekend and went through the same feelings I just didn't feel as sexy. I just started fixing it different ways each night and seen the reactions I got the next day from my family and co-workers and found what worked for me. Really don't let it bother you. I used to have very long hair and donated it to make wigs for kids with cancer. As it had been long all my life, I was not prepared to how much I identified myself with my hair length.

I didn't have regrets for my reasons, but I did NOT like the cut. Go to another hairstylist and see if they can change it for you. It took me a couple of weeks to adjust, but I am delighted with having short hair now. It's easier to maintain, I enjoy trying different hair products that I could not dream of using before and I like seeing people who have known me for a long time try to figure out who I am. The latter made me realize that others also related me to my hair length. I didn't know that others saw my hair and didn't notice me as a whole person. I now realize that my hair did not make the woman, it just acted more like a security blanket that kept me hidden from others.

I know it may feel unattractive now, but it could be because you are not used to it as well. Your hair didn't grow long overnight so it is normal that the new change may take some time to get used to as well.

Anyhow, after shampooing your hair, come your hair as you want it to be and out one of those stocking caps on. It shoudl help your hair stay in its postion while its drying, while you sleep.

The reason why your hair sticks up is because your sleeping on that area, and when you sleep you probably move around so it gets all jumbled up. What you can do is before you go to bed apply a "hair wax" in that area that sticks up, the wax is not going to flake in ur hair, it'll leave it soft and smooth, and you'll be able to work with your hair however you want to in the morning. Next put on one of those nylon caps, what that will do is firmly keep your hair in place so that even if you toss and turn your hair wont mess up. GOod luck!
